Practice range

Stephanie's is now going to confront her fear of guns. She asked one of her friends to come and help her practice shooting and how to properly hold and fire the gun. As she is firing her gun, the monster bullets are eating up the paper. She learned what and what not to do when handling a gun like never putting your finger over or on the trigger. You could accidentally fire and the outcome could be catastrophic. She also gets advice on the proper stance and the right way to hold the gun. I have never before fired off a gun except for a Bebe gun. I was at a camp with my brother, I was eight and my brother was six. One of the days we wanted to learn how to use a Bebe gun but most of all we wanted to fire a gun at paper. The counselors taught us how to load the Bebe's into the cylinder and how to aim and shoot. It was fun and boring at the same time. Fun shooting the bullets into a piece of paper but boring because there was no point in shooting Bebe's at a piece of paper, it would have been better if we could shoot at pop cans. The paper had an outline of a person on it and when I got the paper back I saw three bullet holes in the head of the person. I was either really good at shooting or someone else was that bad that they hit my paper three times in the head for me. It didn't matter to me. I got too bring the paper home and showed my mom that I would be an excellent bounty hunter someday because I would be able to shot the assailant in the head.

Stranded

Right after her incident with the trash can incident, Stephanie visits her cousin Vinnie to get another bail bond to get more money. She goes to the persons house and isn't fooled by Stephanie's trick. He takes her bag, empties it out, and pushes her onto the street. He now has her gun, handcuff and her extra bullets. She is stranded outside and doesn't know what to do, so she decides to call Ranger to come and help her. So he comes and they try to come up with a plan but it back fires. The person with Stephanie's gun shoot at Ranger and catches him in the leg. Stephanie tackles the guy in the back and handcuffs him until the police and the paramedics arrive. I have had similar situations in which I was stranded and alone for quite sometime. One of them was when I was in ninth grade and I stayed after school for help. My mother knew I was there and was suppose to pick me up around four. Four O'clock came and went and I was still waiting at school for her. So I decided to walk home and I walked about a mile and my mom and my uncle are driving in the car to come and pick me up, a half and hour late. I was sweating and it was really hot that day, so my mom made it up to me by taking my out for ice cream. The other time that I was stranded was last year after work and I was again waiting for my mom. I tried calling home but no one answered. Finally and hour later my mom comes speeding into the parking lot and picks me up late, yet again.

Trash Can Dilemma

Currently in the novel, Stephanie encountered a visit with Joe Morelli. She was following his van and when he pulled over and confronted her, he took the car keys and threw them in the dumpster full of black trash bags and a yellow substance that looked like mustard or at least she hoped it was mustard. Joe obviously got away and she was stuck digging through the dumpster to find the car keys. She went back to her apartment and all the neighbors noticed. She smelled like a "wet dog" according to one of the neighbors and the other plugged her nose and ran in the other direction. I have had similar situations dealing with trash cans. The most recent was when my brother decided to get an early start on spring cleaning. He put a bunch of my stuff in the trash because I was yelling at him to leave my stuff alone and that I would take care of it myself. So throughout his cleaning session I had to dig through the trash just to make sure that my stuff wasn't at the bottom. The other story I have about trash cans is the time when a couple of my neighbors wanted to play hide and go seek. The second or third round we played I wanted to be really tricky about my hiding spot. So me and my brother thought it would be fun to trick our friends and hide in the trash can and recycling bin. I obviously hid in the recycling bin while my brother got stuck with the smelly and slimy trash can. He needed a serious shower after that.

Car Alarm

I am about half way through One for the Money and I am enjoying it. The part that I have just finished up is the part where Stephanie Plum installed an alarm system into Joe Morelli's car. She didn't want a repeat of Joe coming back and trying to take the car again. As she was out looking for Morelli one night, she saw him driving away in the van she first spotted him in. She attempts to follow him as she is jumping into the car, the alarm system goes off. I remember when my dad got out white 2000 mini van, I wanted to see what would happen if I pushed the lock button three times. So I show my cousin and younger brother what happens when I pressed the button three time and the car alarm goes off. I was so scared my parents would be mad so I left the keys on the front porch and ran inside to hide. My cousin just laughed and to this day has never let me or my brother forget the fact that we let the alarm go off on our new car. I think its funny that the alarm system went off when Stephanie and I tried to get into our cars. I am having fun reading One for the Money and can't wait to finish off the book. I am trying to read more but life for me right now is just a little to busy for the moment. Although I am busy, I am still trying to fit in reading whenever I have the time.

One for the Money

I have recently started reading the first novel of the Stephanie Plum series. These books are written by Janet Evanovich; The #1 New York Times Bestselling Author. The main character in One for the Money is Stephanie Plum, a lingerie salesman recently fired. She is very tight on money and is looking for a new job so she could pay for her car and her apartment. On the night she visits her parents for supper they tell her that her cousin Vinnie has an opening in his office. Stephanie goes to get the job but finds out the position has been filled. She finds out that her cousin Vinnie is running a bounty hunter business and black mails him into giving her one of the bail skippers, Joe Morelli. His bail bond is worth $10,000, which she wants to get her hands on. She has no experience in law enforcement and no experience dealing with criminals. Joe Morelli was her past fling in high school that she happened to run over with her fathers car. Morelli is wanted for the murder of a famous boxers best friend. As she is hunting him down and in the process gets into trouble with the boxer named Benito Ramirez. As she is on the job, she decides to commandeer his jeep for hers crappy run down car, which later gets her into trouble with Joe. Joe sends his cousin, Mooch to take the car back but she removed the distributor cap so the car wouldn't start when he tried to take it. His cousin tells Joe and Joe visits Stephanie during her evening shower. He raids her house but before he handcuffs her to the shower curtain rod so she wouldn't interfere with him finding the distributor cap. He left her there with the phone so she could call for help after an unsuccessful search of her apartment. This part in the story was so funny to read that I fell down out of my chair, bursting into laughter. This book so far has comedy, suspense, real life situations, drama, romance and a entertaining plot. I can't wait to continue reading further into the story.
