Trash Can Dilemma
Currently in the novel, Stephanie encountered a visit with Joe Morelli. She was following his van and when he pulled over and confronted her, he took the car keys and threw them in the dumpster full of black trash bags and a yellow substance that looked like mustard or at least she hoped it was mustard. Joe obviously got away and she was stuck digging through the dumpster to find the car keys. She went back to her apartment and all the neighbors noticed. She smelled like a "wet dog" according to one of the neighbors and the other plugged her nose and ran in the other direction. I have had similar situations dealing with trash cans. The most recent was when my brother decided to get an early start on spring cleaning. He put a bunch of my stuff in the trash because I was yelling at him to leave my stuff alone and that I would take care of it myself. So throughout his cleaning session I had to dig through the trash just to make sure that my stuff wasn't at the bottom. The other story I have about trash cans is the time when a couple of my neighbors wanted to play hide and go seek. The second or third round we played I wanted to be really tricky about my hiding spot. So me and my brother thought it would be fun to trick our friends and hide in the trash can and recycling bin. I obviously hid in the recycling bin while my brother got stuck with the smelly and slimy trash can. He needed a serious shower after that.
