Ghost Stories
This blog post relate to the story because I just decided not to read any further into my story. This post I am going to write about a different story I read for my English class called "The Demon Lover." It was such an interesting short story to read but the ending was quite disturbing. This story took place during World War II in England. Kathleen Drovers family moved to the country to avoid being blown up by bombs. She went to her house in England to gather a few possession for the family and found a letter on a table from her fiance, which she believed was dead from the war. The letter describes a time when they will be together again and get married. Before he went off to war she promised him that she would marry him once he returned. She feels uncomfortable in her house and goes out to get a taxi at the most popular corner for taxis to be found. When she was leaving the house she felt a breeze coming from downstairs where a window had been opened. She quickly left the house and saw that there was only one taxi at the place and it came right up to her to pick her up. She didn't tell the driver where she was headed to but somehow he knew and was turning the car around. She pounded on the glass panel to talk to him to see where he was going and once she saw he fiances face, she screamed and pounded on the door and window as he sped of onto deserted streets. I really enjoyed reading this story because the author created suspense and had a good cliff hanger ending which I enjoyed a lot.
